What is a Variable and How Can I Use It?Posted on: June 26, 2018
What is a Variable?
In programming, a Variable is a value that can change, depending on conditions or on information passed to the program.
Within your Ministry Sync events, your Event Details become your variable and can be pulled into public web pages and customized emails for a personalized look sent to a wide audience.

All variables take on whatever theme you choose during Event Setup.
Where to Use Variables
Within Event Setup, we provide Web & Email Templates for use in order to promote your event. These templates automatically pull in Event Details and use your Event Banner to maintain a professional, unified look. Each web and email template within Ministry Sync includes default text and can be customized. We strongly encourage you to personalize these to really sell your event. You can do this through the use of Variables.
Variables are easy to insert into your templates and even your emails as needed. In your toolbar, click the % icon to open your Variable options. These Variables pull information from your Event Details and your Registrants’ Profiles. Variables include the Event Title, Date, Location, Event Sponsors, Speaker Description, Event Description, and so much more…
Target Your Audience
Using Variables in the Send Email feature of your account allows you to really hone in on your audience and target them with key information regarding their role at your upcoming event.
Do you use Table Hosts at your event? If so, you have the ability to send a custom email to each Host, using a variable that includes a button that links to each Table Host’s personalized guest list manager page. This encourages engagement and allows for easy list management from your Table Hosts — meaning less work for you!
By customizing emails and web templates, you have the ability to personalize each point of contact. This is important as you grow relationships with your guests.
Your time is important (and limited!) so using this efficient tool allows you to keep the personalization and save the time.
